The Baton Rouge Delta Development Corporation will present 10 debutantes at its 51st Annual Debutante Cotillion on Saturday, Aug. 6.

The debutantes will be introduced to the community Sunday, June 12, during the annual Presentation Tea, with a theme of “An Evening with the Debutantes,” at the Baton Rouge Delta Sorority House on Harding Boulevard.

The debutantes are Mallarie Nicole Dillon, daughter of Sharon and Johnny Dillion Jr., of Zachary; Eboni Janaé Dunn, daughter of Kim M. Jones, of Zachary, and Emanuel Dunn; Braiyha Christianna Ingram, daughter of Sirica J. and Shameka White; Karissa Adawn Matthews, daughter of Wayne and Bernice Matthews; Brianna Je’nay Porter, daughter of Brandon and Janelle Porter; Chaila Pilar Roberson, daughter of Baron and Patricia Roberson; Kayla Michelle Robinson, daughter of Jennifer M. Robinson and Kevin Johnson; Caitlyn Alise Smith, daughter of Calvin and Jenipher Smith; Tyxavyr Deliyan Smith, daughter of Byron and Frankina A. Smith-Charles; and Caroline Florinne Johnson Taylor, daughter of Drs. Jonathan P. and Yolanda J. Taylor.

Mallarie Nicole Dillon is a senior at Zachary High School, where she is a member of the track and field team, Upper-class Mentors and athletic training staff. She is a member of the Greater King David Baptist Church Youth and College Choir and Delta GEMS. She is the granddaughter of Victoria Collins Grimes, of Baker, and the late Lana Miller and the late Johnnie Dillon Sr. She is sponsored by Lauren L. Clark, a member of the BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

Eboni Janaé Dunn is a senior at Zachary High School, where she is a member of the track and field team, University of New Orleans Upward Bound, STAND Teen Ministry and Delta GEMS. She received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award-UNO Upward Bound and was selected as the Delta GEMS 2016 Sisterhood Award recipient. She is the granddaughter of Walter L. and Rebecca F. Jones, of New Orleans, and Estella W. Dunn, of Jackson, and the late Wiley Dunn Jr. She is sponsored by her mother, a member of BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

Braiyha Christianna Ingram is a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, where she is a member of Creative Writing, Robotics and Art clubs. She is the granddaughter of Randolph Scott, of St. Gabriel, Cathy Holden, and Donald C. and Stecylea White. She is sponsored by Mary Bazile and Wilma Matthews, both members of the BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

Karissa Adawn Matthews is a 2016 graduate of Christian Life Academy, where she was a member of the Beta Club, Key Club, National Honor Society and Student Council. She received the Director’s Choice Award for Drama, Outstanding Student in Latin 1 Award and was on the honor roll. She attends Turner Chapel AME Church. She is the granddaughter of the late Isiah and Lillee Bee Henry and the late Artee and Odeal Matthews. She is sponsored by Pearlie B. Brown and Patsy S. Price, both members of the BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

Brianna Je’nay Porter is a senior at Mentorship Academy and is a member of the Beta Club, the Honor Society and Dance Team. She received special honors for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average and being on the honor roll. She is a member of Rosehill Baptist Church. Brianna is the granddaughter of Linda F. Dunn, Joseph H. Patin Jr., Lillie B. Porter and the late Earnest F. Porter. She is sponsored by Nequoia Elsey, a member of the BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

Chaila Pilar Roberson is a senior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where she is a member of the Beat Street Dance Team, XLR-8 Allstars Dance Team, African Heritage Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club and Team Spirit Club. Special honors include receiving the Baton Rouge High AP Honor Student Award. Chaila attends Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She is the granddaughter of the late Willie and Ida Mae Davis and Lon Elbert and Mazie T. Roberson. She is sponsored by Erika L. Green, a member of the BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

Kayla Michelle Robinson is a senior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where she is a member of Sigma Phi A School Step Team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, African Heritage Club and Team Spirit Club. Kayla attends Interdenominational Faith Assembly. She is the granddaughter of Joseph and Sylvia Lee, the late John Robinson Sr. and Preston and Della Washington. She is sponsored by Erika L. Caitlyn Alise Smith is a 2016 graduate of Parkview Baptist High School, where she was the president of the Baton Rouge chapter of Jack and Jill, class representative, a school ambassador and a member of Beta Club and Key Club. Caitlyn received special recognition for National Society of High School Scholars and National Youth Leadership Forum. She is the granddaughter of Mattie Walker and Joseph and Clara Morrow, of Shreveport. She is sponsored by Patricia K. Sterling, a member of the BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

Tyxavyr Deliyan Smith is a senior at Mentorship Academy where she is a member of the Beta Club and Honor Society, is junior class vice president, captain of the school’s Dancing Dolls and president of Teen Lead. She received special honors for having a 4.0 or better grade point average. She attends New Covenant Christian Center. She is the granddaughter of Robert Gibbs and Oliva Ann Goss, of Clinton, and Linda Charles and Byron Trask. She is sponsored by Nequoia Elsey, a member of BRDDC and a Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae.

Caroline Florinne Johnson Taylor is a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, where is a member of the Spanish Club, the Student Council, the Drama Club and Jack and Jill of America. She is a youth ministry leader at Trinity AME Church. Caroline is the granddaughter of the Rev. Dr. Willie G. and Florena B. Johnson, of Greensburg, and Henderson Taylor, of Los Angeles, California, and the late E. Norris Taylor. She is sponsored by her mother, a member of the BRDDC and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter.

The cotillion is Aug. 6 at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel. Edith L. Cox is general chairwoman of the cotillion, and Charlene T. Wilson is co-chairwoman. Shirley L.
