There is more to stew meat than just a beef stew. Use it to make a tasty vegetable soup or, in this case, a lovely salsa and black bean dish.

Reinvent the leftovers and have another dish entirely. Freezing the main part of any meal is a good way of ensuring another good meal down the road, whether you use the filling as stuffing for a baked potato, a hearty sandwich or anything else.

Don’t freeze more than you think you will eat at a given time. If you live in a single household, freeze in small containers that can serve as a single meal. Otherwise, you will have to eat the same thing over multiple nights — a good way to tire of something quickly.

There are so many ingredient combinations that work well together. Inventing a recipe is no more than picking lots of ingredients you like and putting them together or knowing that some ingredients may not be what you want individually, but they are great when combined with another.

Black beans and salsa added to corn make for a tasty accompaniment to a good stew meat. Serve over rice of choice and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
