Ruffino’s Restaurant, 18811 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, is hosting a farewell fling to summer — with its own “Lobster Festival.”

The award-winning restaurant is offering a special three-course menu through Aug. 31. For $30, guests can choose one of Ruffino’s lobster-inspired appetizers, from creamy bisque to spring rolls to crispy Maine lobster dumplings, as well as one of three entrées: Lobster Pot Pie, Lobster Fra Daiavolo or the hearty Lobster “Filet Mignon.” The meal is finished off with the guest’s choice of Creole bread pudding or house-made sorbets.

“We wanted to offer something truly special to encourage folks to brave the August heat, so we figured this was the perfect time to treat them to a fresh new spin on this sweet and meaty shellfish,” said chef Peter Sclafani, co-owner and executive chef at Ruffino’s. “True, it’s hard to compete with tender lobster tail and a little melted butter, but we’ve created dishes even more mouth-watering.”

Mellow Mushroom

Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers on Wednesday will be offering selections from its original 1974 menu to mark the brand’s 40th anniversary.

Each of Mellow Mushroom’s locations nationwide will hold a “Way Back Wednesday” celebration in which a small cheese pizza, Coke products and select beers will be available at 1974 prices to mark nearly half a century since the first Mellow opened in Atlanta.
