A Baton Rouge staple is getting a makeover.

TJ Ribs' location at 2324 S. Acadian Thruway closed Monday, June 26, for a two-month renovation. New additions to the restaurant will include a John Folse inspired Cochon de Lait, new bar and tap system, retail area, upgraded audio and video system, and better seating to view the LSU coaches shows.

The restaurant will reopen before football season. Around early August, the restaurant will hire and train staff. During this time, TJ Ribs' locations at 6330 Siegen Lane and at 37436 Ultima Plaza Blvd. in Prairieville will remain open with regular business hours.

Founded by TJ Moran, TJ Ribs has been open for 31 years. The restaurant originally opened on Highland Road before moving to its South Acadian Thruway location. The menu features sandwiches, burgers, baby back ribs, and barbecue platters. The restaurant opened its third location in Prairieville in the old Sliders Sports Grill in May.
