Mu Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. will kick off its debutante season with a presentation tea at the chapter’s sorority house on Aug. 24. The chapter will introduce three young women, who will be formally presented at a debutante cotillion later this fall.

Debutantes are Albrittany A’Daria Chambers, daughter of Nicole Richardson and Derrick Chambers; Jyla Lynette Ford, daughter of Jacqueline and Jeffery Ford; and Morgan Dee Georgetown, daughter of Amelia and David Georgetown, of Baker.

Albrittany A’Daria Chambers is the granddaughter of the late Albertha Sterling, the late Leonard Williams, the late Celestine Chambers of Clinton and the late Jerry Chambers. She is a graduate of Glen Oaks High School and a freshman at Southern University where she plans to major in criminal justice. She is a member of Gloryland Baptist Church.

Jyla Lynette Ford is the granddaughter of the late Gloria and Walter Washington and the late Melouise and Willie Ford. She attends McKinley High School, where she enjoys performing and showcasing her fashion design skills. She attends New St. John Baptist Church where she is a member of the usher board.

Morgan Dee Georgetown is the granddaughter of the Rev. Luceal Bibbins and the late James Bibbins and Evelyn Georgetown, of Plaquemine, and the late Nathan Georgetown. She attends Parkview Baptist School, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, the Parkview Baptist School choir and track team. She is a member of the praise team at Westgate Church.
