Fundraiser for cure
Friendly Honda Yamaha, 10939 Airline Highway, is hosting a fundraiser for the Baton Rouge affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26 and 27. Komen for the Cure is the most widely-known breast cancer research, education, advocacy, health services and social support organization in the U.S. A pink camo custom 500CC ATV will be raffled Saturday afternoon. On Saturday, there will be $5 plate lunches, silent auctions, door prizes and games. Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. For details, call (225) 292-6242.

Young musicians in grades 9 through college are eligible to audition for the Louisiana Youth Orchestra. Auditions will be conducted 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra offices, 7330 Highland Road. St. Francisville’s 'Night’
On the heels of the popular New Orleans event, the St. Francisville Merchants Association is hosting its own White Linen Night on Saturday, Aug. 27. Shops and eateries along Commerce, Ferdinand and Royal streets will be open, and music and local artisans will be featured. The event begins at 5 p.m. Trolleys to all the featured locations will be available.

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Louisiana is looking for volunteers for the Oct. 1-2 Bike MS Louisiana. More than 1,100 cyclists are expected for the ride, which begins in Hammond on Saturday travels to McComb, Miss., and returns to Hammond on Sunday. The annual Tigerama event will take place at 8 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Adult auditions (age 15 and older) for A Christmas Carol will be held at Baton Rouge Little Theater at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, and 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Children’s auditions will be held Sept. 17.

Star Party at LSU

Arts open house
In an effort to connect with the community, the Performing Arts Academy at LSU will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, in the Music & Dramatic Arts Building on Dalrymple Drive. Visitors will see live performances, and enjoy guided tours, workshops and an “instrument petting zoo.”
