Nineteen young women were presented by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Nu Gamma Omega Chapter, at its annual Debutante Cotillion and Spring Ball on April 2 at the Belle of Baton Rouge Atrium.

President Chandra Stacie welcomed and lead a toast for more than 400 guests. Deedra Wilson, WVLA anchor, served as mistress of ceremonies for the event themed “A Stunning Reflection of Elegance and Grace.”

Amber Nicole Harmon, daughter of Andre and Carla Harmon, was crowed as queen of the cotillion. She was escorted by Aaron Leonard.

Lauren Elizabeth Gaines was recognized as Miss Amity.

Proceeds from the debutante ball are used to award scholastic stipends and sponsor community service projects.
