RELAY FOR LIFE EVENT LEADERSHIP TEAM, American Cancer Society — Angela Nantamu, (225) 927-0782: The Relay for Life of Baton Rouge is the signature fundraising event in the American Cancer Society. Volunteers are needed to serve on a team to plan the local event.

HELP SURVIVORS OF A TRAUMATIC LOSS, Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center — Becky Young, (225) 924-1431 or brcic.org and click “Getting Involved”: Traumatic Loss Outreach program provides trained teams of volunteers to offer support and assistance to family and friends traumatized by an unexpected death.

ERIC REID INVITATIONAL, Baton Rouge Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation — Lorri Burgess, (225) 346-8434, lburgess@brscaf.org: The Baton Rouge Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation needs volunteers for the Eric Reid Invitational Golf Tournament and Silent Auction May 3-4. Volunteers are also needed in leadership capacities for future events.

CLUB INSPIRE, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge — Onya Carter, (225) 454-6333, onya@brclubs.org: Club Inspire Mentors are matched with a Boy & Girls Club member and commit to meet with them at least one time per month for an hour. Mentors do not need to be in any academic area but should provide encouragement and have high expectations for club members. Mentors meet with club members at school or club site at a time convenient for the mentor. Mentors are not asked to provide transportation to off-site experiences or field trips planned by the club.

CAT FOSTER CARE, Capital Area Animal Welfare Society — (225) 752-5801, caaws.org or caawsmail@yahoo.com: Volunteers are needed to foster animals. Food, supplies and medical expenses are paid by CAAWS. You supply love, attention and a safe temporary home. You will be required to bring your foster animal to a specified number of Pet Adoption Days per month to give it the opportunity to find its permanent home.
