Gabriel LXXVII Dewitt “Zeen” David and Evangeline LXXVII Katherine “Katie” Blanchet, daughter of Bill and Rebecca Blanchet, reigned over the Grand Ball of the Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association on Mardi Gras evening.

The Heymann Performing Arts and Convention Center stage, depicting an interior palace ballroom scene, provided the backdrop as members of the Royal Court took their bows. The ball began with the presentation of the crest of the Greater Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association. The entrance of King Gabriel was followed by the queen, who was escorted by Robert Foard, president of the Greater Southwest Louisiana Mardi Gras Association.

Serving as royal honor dukes to Gabriel LXXVII were Henry Busch III and Dr. Thomas Montgomery.

Royal dukes serving the king were Grady Andrus, James Craton, Mitch Gautreaux, Stan Guidroz, James Hutchison, Dr. Leon LaHaye, Joe LaPrairie III, William Logan III, David Mann and Mike Michot.

Presented as honor maids to the queen were Caroline Cryer, daughter of Russell and Charlotte Cryer, and Oakley Montgomery, daughter of Dr. Thomas and Deidre Montgomery.

Maids to the queen were Alyssa Craton, daughter of Mike and Evelyn Craton; Avery Eddy, daughter of Rob and Toni Eddy; Michelle Gautreaux, daughter of Mitch and Kay Gautreaux; Hannah Guidroz, daughter of Stan and Ruthy Guidroz; Claudia Killeen, daughter of Patrick and Michelle Killeen; Lauren LaHaye, daughter of Dr. Leon and Lacey LaHaye; Annie LaPrairie, daughter Joe LaPrairie and Tori Valicevic; Olivia Lerille, daughter of Mark and Jacquie Lerille; Taylor Mann, daughter of David and Sandy Mann; and Mary Carolyn Michot, daughter of Mike and Monique Michot.

Pages to the king were his grandsons, Peyton and John Stewart David, sons of Ken and Suzanne David.

Pages to the queen were Everett Foard, son of Robert and Carrie Foard, and Hayden Hutchison, son of Scott and Angela Hutchison.

When members of the court were assembled following the Grand March, Gabriel LXXVI and Evangeline LXXVI, P.J. Voorhies and Ann-Riley Lane, were presented. Court jester was Abigail Busch, daughter of Bradley and Renee Busch. Set design and construction for the ball was by Joel Theriot.
