“Vicki Lawrence and Mama, A Two Woman Show” is set for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday at BREC’s Independence Park Theatre, 7800 Independence Blvd.
Emmy Award-winning comedienne Vicki Lawrence is one of the most beloved television personalities of her generation. After her portrayal of the “Mama” character on “The Carol Burnett Show,” Lawrence has taken Mama to the stage for this hilarious two-woman show.
“My show is not a retrospective,” she explains. “It is a mixture of stand-up comedy, music and my observations about real life. I think people will get a kick out of the things Mama has an opinion about. We’re creating new material with a more modern and cutting edge. Where Mama is concerned, expect the unexpected. There’s really nothing she can’t do,” she says.
Lawrence was born in Inglewood, California, and has had an extensive career in television and music. She is known for her work on “The Carol Burnett Show” and has made appearances on such television sitcoms as “Laverne & Shirley,” “Major Dad,” “Rosanne,” “Hannah Montana” and “Yes, Dear.”
Tickets start at $35 and can be purchased in advance at the Independence Park Theatre Box Office.
An exclusive ‘Meet and Greet’ option also is available for $75 per person for those who want to meet Lawrence after the show for pictures and autographs.
Concessions will be on sale including snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
