LAFAYETTE — The Lauren-Reilly Eliot Company will open its production of “A Streetcar Named Desire” — the Pulitzer Prize-winning Tennessee Williams drama which is turning 70 this year — on Friday, Oct. 13, at Cite des Arts, 109 Vine St.

The show will continue Fridays through Sundays through Oct. 28. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Directed by Cooper Helm, the company has assembled a cast that includes veteran actors Katryn Schmidt as Blanche DuBois and Andrew Lee Vincent as Stanley Kowalski.

The opening night performance will be a fundraiser hosted by Stagebackers that includes a pre-performance dinner and an after-party with Champagne and an assortment of cheese and chocolate. Tickets are $40.
