Open auditions for Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre's Youth Ballet will be held March 10 in the Dancer's Workshop, 10745 Linkwood Court.

Registration is 8:45 a.m., followed by auditions from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The Youth Ballet is a program that provides quality training for aspiring young dancers while bringing the art of ballet to historically under-served community groups in the arts with a summer tour of libraries, retirement centers and day camps.

The troupe is open to dancers, male and female, entering the fifth through ninth grades in the fall of 2018.

This year, the Youth Ballet is bringing a 30-minute version of the ballet "Coppélia" on tour from June 4-12. This comic ballet includes dancing dolls, a foolish toy maker and lots of pranks.
