A musical children's story, string quartets and performances by gifted singers and pianists are all part of the Louisiana Sinfonietta's performance on Sunday, Feb. 4.

The Family Concert will be held at 2 p.m. in the LSU School of Music Recital Hall on Dalrymple Drive.

Featured soloists will be noted percussionist and LSU professor Brett Dietz, soprano Cara Waring, Greek pianist and professor Amalia Sagona, and reader Judy Constantinides.

Classical composers Dvorak, Purcell and Schumann will be performed, as well as pieces by modern musicians Witold Lutoslawski and the Sinfonietta’s maestro Dinos Constantinides.

Judy Constantinides will read a story based on a Yiddish folktale titled “No Room,” which demonstrates the practical advice of an old and wise man. The Sinfonietta will accompany the story with original music composed by Dinos Constantinides.

Tickets are $15 and $5 for students, and are available at the door or through PayPal online at louisianasinfonietta.org. For more information, call (225) 766-3487 (evenings) or (225) 578-4010 (day).
