HAMMOND — Aquila Theatre will perform “Hamlet” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at Southeastern Louisiana University’s Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, 220 E. Thomas St.

The production by the New York-based Aquila will include a twist, as is customary for the company. Desiree Sanchez is directing.

“Hamlet will seek to shed new light on this tragic story,” said Roy Blackwood, Columbia Theatre/Fanfare director. "The production uses movement, design, sound and superb acting to vividly explore the depths of rage, madness, love and death brought about by a culture of obsessive personal ambition.”

Tickets are $30-$40 and are available at the Columbia Theatre box office from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or by calling (985) 543-4371 or visiting columbiatheatre.org.
