Kids’ Orchestra will present two weeks of performances as part of its Winter 2017 Neighborhood Concert Series beginning Dec. 4.

The series will feature nearly 800 Baton Rouge students from 24 different public, private and charter elementary schools. Each student will demonstrate musical skills learned through participation in the first semester of Kids’ Orchestra afterschool programming.

Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will perform on string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. The Kids' Choir also will perform. All concerts are free and open to the public. For more information, call (225) 922-4656.

  • Dec. 7, 5:30 p.m. — Westdale Academic Magnet
  • Dec. 11, 6 p.m. — Claiborne Elementary
  • Dec. 11, 6 p.m. — Kids' Choir at BREC's Independence Park Theatre
  • Dec. 12, 5:30 p.m. — Dufrocq Elementary
  • Dec. 12, 6 p.m. — Ryan Elementary
  • Dec. 13, 6 p.m. — Capitol Elementary
