If you had family photos damaged in the 2016 flood or in other ways, the East Baton Rouge Parish Library is offering restoration help.
The free, two-day Operation Photo Rescue Scan & Restoration Event is being held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the EBR Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge.
The library is partnering with Operation Photo Rescue to provide the service on a first-come, first-served basis.
Up to 20 damaged photos will be scanned and digitally restored as much as possible for free. You will take home the originals and the restored prints will be sent to you within six to 12 months.
Experienced volunteers from the rescue service also will be available to answer questions about recovering damaged images.
