A Multi-Cultural Festival will be held at the Greenwell Springs Road Regional branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, 11300 Greenwell Springs Road, beginning at noon Saturday, July 30. The theme of the festival is “Celebrating Our Differences.” There will be showcases of food, art, music and dance of the many different cultures in the Baton Rouge area. Everyone is invited to attend.

Baton Rouge author Judy Garwood shares the story of a woman who moves back home to care for her mother who has Alzheimer’s in the book, Mama, I’m Here.

Garwood will read from her book and answer questions at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the Jones Creek Regional branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, 6222 Jones Creek Road.

Garwood’s special guest will be Barbara Auten, executive director of Charlie’s Place and Alzheimer’s Services of Baton Rouge.

The presentation is in a slideshow format, which will include information about parking, shuttles, special equipment needs, hiking distances and times, and more.

From 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Main branch, 13986 Florida Blvd. in Livingston, teens will hear popular Urban Legends. This event is for teens in grades 7 and up.
