Tickets are on sale for the 2018 Writers and Readers Symposium Feb. 17-18 in St. Francisville, with early bird tickets available for $45 until Dec. 31.

The ticket price goes to $55 on Jan. 1 and will be $65 the day of the event at the door.

The event at Hemingbough Convention Center will feature award-winning authors Catharine Savage Brosman, John Kemp, Michael H. Rubin, Genaro K Lý Smith and M.O. Walsh.

Registration on Saturday runs from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., then the four authors will read from and discuss their writing and creative processes until noon. Lunch is included in the ticket price and participants will be able to dine with the authors.

Presentations after lunch will run until about 3:30 p.m.

Conundrum Books and Puzzles in St. Francisville will have copies of these authors' books on site for sale, and the authors will be available to autograph them and chat with participants.

A "Novel Image Art Show" will also be held in conjunction with the symposium and will include photographs, paintings and sculptures related to writing and literature. The audience will pick their favorite works of art, and awards will be given.

The symposium is supported in part by a Decentralized Arts Funding Grant from the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge in cooperation with the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, and Louisiana State Arts Council.

The Writers Retreat, led by Smith, will take place on Sunday. Participants must select the Writers Retreat Ticket Option to be included, as it is a separate ticket from the Saturday symposium.
