"Superflare: The Fortunate Ones" by Lisa Poche Calhoun, CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, $29.99, 686 pages, paperback
Louisiana author Lisa Poche Calhoun's new survival fiction novel is "Superflare: The Fortunate Ones."
Published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, "Superflare" is "the story of one strong, determined Louisiana family's fight to survive after a giant solar flare unleashes EMP-like (electromagnetic pulse) destruction upon them. They deal with their losses and adapt to their new way of life, intent to forge ahead and survive," the author says.
The timely novel by the former film location manager from Baton Rouge is appropriate for all ages.
"I wrote it in a way to submerge the reader into the story and used a couple of captivating romantic veins to carry the reader through the ordeal. That said, the book is clean and appropriate for younger readers," Calhoun says.
