On Saturday, Sept. 12, downtown Lafayette will be overrun with poets and various artists from central and south Louisiana participating in Word Crawl, a fundraiser for the upcoming Festival of Words.

The event is a marathon 12-hour poetry reading taking place from noon to midnight in six venues with more than 40 poets participating.

All kinds of creative word presentations are welcome — poets, storytellers, songwriters.

There’s also a Francophone portion. For information on how to participate, visit festivalofwords.org.
