CLOSED: The River Center Branch is closed for construction of a new downtown library. A temporary branch will open later in July at 447 Third St.

NEWSPAPER ARCHIVES: 10:30 a.m., EBR Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. The library’s Newsbank Historical Newspaper Archive database is home to millions of pages of full scans of Baton Rouge and New Orleans newspapers, dating from 1837 to 2015. This class will teach you how to search and sort this large amount of information and uncover stories about the people, places and things in your ancestors’ communities.
