  • TEEN BLOCKBUSTER BOOK TRIVIA: 4-6 p.m., River Center Branch Library, 120 St. Louis St. Teens and tweens can test their knowledge of blockbuster books, including “Harry Potter,” “Divergent,” “Percy Jackson,” “The Mortal Instruments” and “Twilight.” There will be food and prizes.

  • SHOWCASE OF WOMEN AUTHORS: 2-6 p.m., East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. Meet and chat with women authors about their books. Various books will be available for purchase and autographs.

  • AUTHOR-ILLUSTRATOR PROGRAM: 7 p.m., East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. Free program featuring David A. Adler, author of the “Cam Jansen” series, who will talk about “I Love to Write.” On Thursday, Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Adler will conduct a “My Writing Life” workshop.
