Plaquemine native and fantasy/sci-fi fan S.P. Brown's first novel is "The Legacy."
Published by Black Opal Books, the plot centers on Harry Black, who must accept his family's mysterious legacy in order to procure his inheritance. A nightmare, dark secrets, a high-ranking U.S. senator and a terrorist bombing all figure into the tale.
Brown is a professor of kinesiology at Mississippi State University. Brown and his wife live in Starkville, Mississippi, and have three daughters.
