The Baton Rouge Hunger Walk will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1.

The two-mile walk raises money to benefit The Holy Grill of the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.

All of the proceeds stay in the community to fight poverty and hunger. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m., with a kickoff rally at 2:15 p.m. The walk starts at the Catholic Life Center, 1800 S. Acadian Thruway, Baton Rouge.

Registration is $15 and can be made online at tinyurl.com/hungerbr. For details, call (225) 267-5600 or visit ifedgbr.com.

Citing U.S. Census figures between 2009-2015, the Federation’s reports that 25 percent of people in Baton Rouge were living below poverty level.

The Baton Rouge Food Bank and Holy Grill are places for families to find food and aid, and to learn the skills they need to help them become self-sufficient in the future.

Those interested in sponsoring the walk or providing supplies for the day of the walk can contact Kenyatta Chandler at HolyGrill@ifedgbr.com.
