Grandparents, parents and their children from throughout the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge are invited to be guests of honor at the Seventh Annual Grand Day, which begins with noon Mass on Sunday, Oct. 4, at historic St. Joseph Cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge.

The Rev. Paul D. Counce, pastor of the cathedral, will preside at this celebration — a “Children’s Liturgy” — by preaching to the younger generation. The award-winning Baton Rouge Magnet High Festival Singers will sing during the Mass.

An outdoor family-friendly street party, with a theme of “The Joy of Creation,” will follow the Mass. There will be food, music, pony rides, a petting zoo of farm animals and Bubbles the Camel. Other activities include face painting and caricature sketching.

All Grand Day activities and food are free and open to the public. For more information, call (225) 387-5928.
