St. Mark United Methodist Church is holding a birthday bash for 12 members, all of whom are 90 or older, following its 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Feb. 25.

Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome is expected to attend the event in the fellowship hall, 6217 Glen Oaks Drive.

The honorees are Mildred Bowie, 102, a retired teacher; Doris Thompson, 101, a church member since she was 12 and a retired teacher; Eleanor Miles, 101, a former first lady of a church as wife to a minister; Ruth Myers, 96, who joined St. Mark's in the 1950s; Alice Stepter, 98, a native of Clinton; Natalie Holloman, 98, a retired nurse/receptionist from a local doctor’s office; Vertlee Washington, 97, a native of New Orleans and retired teacher who moved here after Hurricane Katrina; Milton Grayer, 91, a retired truck driver and World War II veteran; Ruth Mae Williams Eby, 90, a member of the church for 23 years; Ella Mae Sensley Pitts, 99, a retired elementary school teacher; Daisy Jarrell, 91, a retired teacher; and Mary W. Matthews, 100, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Clinton and an associate member of Hope Community United Methodist Church.
