The South Louisiana Youth Federation, which represents 16 Seventh-day Adventist churches from an 11-parish region, will meet Friday, Oct. 31, and Saturday, Nov. 1, in Baton Rouge.

The theme is “WIFI: Are You Connected?” and will include a discussion on “We’re in Final Introspection, Intervention & Investigation.”

The gathering begins the night of Oct. 31 at the Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7330 Mickens Road, and will feature a discussion about concerns for today’s youth with adults.

The Nov. 1 celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4555 Fairfields, with worship speaker Pastor Kenn Dixon, media/communications director of Southwest Region Conference of Seventh-day Adventists headquarters in Dallas.

Following the free lunch, a parade begins at 4:30 p.m. starting from Berean. The parade’s route will continue south onto 47 Street, then west onto Gus Young Avenue, ending at the Gus Young Park, where BRAVE representatives, local ministers and designated youth will address the crowd.

Free health screenings also will be conducted. The parade will feature Pathfinders (the denomination’s scouting group) from many of the areas represented, marching bands, decorated floats, members of the BRAVE project and marchers with rally posters.
