The annual CommUNITY Prayer Breakfast, sponsored by the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge, will be held at 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Boudreaux’s, 2647 Government St., Baton Rouge.
Leaders from different faiths will offer reflections on the theme of “Listen: With Hearts Wide Open.”
The program includes Rabbi Natan Trief, of Beth Shalom Synagogue; the Rev. Mike Massar, of University Baptist Church, and the Rev. Errol Domingue, of Elm Grove Baptist Church.
In addition, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, East Baton Rouge Parish schools Superintendent Warren Drake, interim Police Chief Jonny Dunnam and others will light candles as participants pray for the community.
Over 250 people are expected to attend this year’s event. Tickets are $20 and are available from the Interfaith Federation office, 3112 Convention St., through Sunday, Sept. 3. Call (225) 267-5600 for more information.
