Eight young artists captured ribbons Aug. 30 at River Community Church’s fourth annual children’s community art show.

Sixteen artworks from student ages 5-13 were entered in the Gonzales exhibition. Jan Hebert, a Prairieville artist, was judge, while Jeanie Liehe coordinated the show.

Those receiving ribbons were:

AGES 5-9

1st: “Spring Flowers” by Annika Small (oil)

2nd: “Cezanne Still Life” by Arielle Forest (acrylic)

3rd: “The Art of God” by Eternity Campbell (markers)

Honorable Mention: “Calliope: Self Portrait” by Calliope “Callie” Putnam (acrylic)

Honorable Mention: “Heart” by Regan Gilley (colored pencil)

AGES 10-13:

1st: “Bird Party” by Maki Johnson (mixed media)

2nd: “Reflections of Autumn” by Grace Williams

3rd: “Colorful Cranium” by Charity Campbell (markers)

The exhibit will be on display until Sept. 27 at the church, 36367 Old Perkins Road, Prairieville. Viewing is from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Sundays, also when the church office is open, and by appointment. Contact Pastor Steve Rhodes at steve@rivercommunity.org.
