To mark the 30th anniversary of The Hospice of Baton Rouge, a panel discussion on the topics of elder care, end of life and the commandment to honor your mother and father will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 21, at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd., in the conference center.
The panel will be moderated by the Rev. Amy Ziettlow, author of “The Honor Commandment: Law, Religion and the Challenge of Elder Care,” to be published in the Journal of Law and Religion in June 2015.
Scheduled to be a part of the panel are the Rev. Michael Button, of St. Paul Lutheran Church; the Rev. Leo D. Cyrus, of New Hope Baptist Church; Denise Domingue, chaplain at The Hospice Of Baton Rouge; Rabbi Thomas Gardner, of Beth Shalom Synagogue; Loren Marks, coordinator in the LSU Family Studies Division; and the Rev. Brady Whitton, of First United Methodist Church.
