World-renowned organist Hector Olivera will perform at the Sunday dedication of the new organ at St. George Catholic Church.
The 3 p.m. event at the church, 7808 St. George Drive just off Seigen Lane, will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany with Olivera, one of the most sought-after and revered international concert organists. Admission is free.
Since entering the Buenos Aires Conservatory as a child prodigy at age 6, Olivera has performed solo concerts throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, Australia, Central and Latin America and as guest soloist with prominent symphony orchestras worldwide.
In March, St. George opened its new $17 million sanctuary, which features a soaring, arched ceiling, multiple stained glass windows and seating for 350 people.
