The Fourth District Missionary Baptist Associationwill hold its 140th annual session Nov. 9-14.

This year’s theme is “A Call to Unity.” All meetings and services will be held at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, 9700 Scenic Highway, Baton Rouge. Dr. Jesse B. Bilberry Jr. is moderator of the association.

A Youth Explosion will kick off the week’s activities at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, followed by the Layman’s Division Services at 7 p.m.

The annual Fellowship Banquet will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10. Dr. Robert Hudson, moderator of the 13th District Association in Shreveport, will be the banquet speaker. Tickets are $40 per person or $400 per table, and may be purchased at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, (225) 775-2740.

The District Woman’s Auxiliary will meet Tuesday through Friday at 4 p.m. and the Evangelism Team will conduct a Street Ministry Tuesday through Thursday at 4 p.m. Nightly worship services begin at 7 and will emphasize the theme:

  • Tuesday – Church Growth Night, Rev. Isaiah Webster, director
  • Wednesday – Christian Education Night, Rev. Audrey Bowman, director
  • Thursday – President’s Address, Dr. Jesse B. Bilberry Jr.
  • Friday – Pastors Night, Dr. Rene Brown, director

The Fourth District is a six-parish association that is dedicated to bringing churches together and empowering their leaders for effective ministry in the 21st century.

The District leadership team include: Rev. Donald Sterling, East Baton Rouge Parish president; the Rev. Lee T. Wesley, Iberville Parish president; Dr. John Thompson, West Feliciana Parish president; Dr. Rodney Freeman, East Feliciana Parish president; Dr. Phillip Joseph, West Baton Rouge Parish president; Dr. Albert Haynes Sr., vice president and Pointe Coupee Parish president.

All activities are open to the public.
