The 27th annual Sounds of CommUNITY concert, sponsored by the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
The concert will celebrate congregations with racial and historical religious divides. It will feature children’s bell choirs from St. Mary Baptist Church and St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and singing by the combined adult choirs or ensembles from Jordan United Methodist Church and Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church and the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge.
Representatives of other paired churches — Elm Grove Baptist and St. Paul Lutheran, and Neely United and University United Methodist Church — will have readers participate in the service.
The concert is free; an offering will be taken supporting the Interfaith Federation.
