Good workouts and great food go together like, well, Louisiana and festivals.

At least that's the thinking behind the Lifejunkie Fest, a healthy-living event planned for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 19 in downtown Baton Rouge.

The event, at North Boulevard Town Square, kicks off with running and biking events at 8 a.m., according to a festival news release.

There will be a strength class at 9:15 a.m. and a yoga class at 10:15 a.m. by Higher Power BR. Food and treats will be offered through a variety of vendors, as well as live music, which will begin at 11 a.m.

Organizer Pat Fellows, owner of Freshjunkie restaurant, The Lousiana Marathon and other health-related brands, said the event was born out of the need for a fitness-based annual festival, celebrating good workouts and great music.
