Serves 4 to 6. This is a one-dish wonder! Everything, even the rice, cooks in the same casserole dish - so easy to make and clean up after.

1-1/2 lbs. round steak

2 tsps. pepper

2 to 3 tsps. meat tenderizer

1 cup uncooked long- or medium-grain rice

1 (14-oz.) can beef stock

Water

3/4 stick butter, sliced

1 (2-oz.) pkg. Lipton dry onion soup mix

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Cut round steak into 5 or 6 pieces, put pepper and meat tenderizer on both sides and pound in (sometimes, you can buy round steak that is already tenderized). Place the meat in a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish.

3. Pour in 1 cup uncooked long or medium-grain rice, 1 can beef stock and 1 can water. Add sliced butter and contents of one of the envelopes of dry onion soup mix. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
