BD Kitchen Co., 7350 Jefferson Highway, Suite 490, in Towne Center behind Chico’s, has scheduled cooking classes by dessert caterer Mary Aycock and cookbook author Marcelle Bienvenu.
Aycock, owner of Divine Desserts and Wedding Cakes, will offer a class on “Chocolate 101” from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Aycock will teach participants how to make an easy Chocolate Raspberry Cake, Chocolate P?te With White Chocolate Cr?me Anglaise, Chocolate Truffles and Espresso Fudge Sauce. Cost is $55 per person.
Bienvenu, a food writer, chef and cooking instructor, will hold her cooking demonstration class from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 18, followed by a book signing from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Bienvenu will create a menu based on dishes from her newly released cookbook, “No Baloney On My Boat!” (Acadian House Publishing, $17.95).
The menu will be Gazpacho, Marinated Shrimp & Summer Corn on Tomato Slices; Pimento Deviled Eggs; Beef Tenderloin & Watercress Sandwiches; and Sour Cream Pound Cake With Brandied Blueberries. Cost is $45 per person.

Cooking Contest, Tasting Fair Sunday
The Baton Rouge Center for World Affairs is holding its 12th Annual International Cooking Competition and Tasting Fair at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Louisiana State Museum, 660 N. 4th St.
The event will feature ethnic dishes from around the world prepared by local chefs, restaurants and home cooks, as well as wine and musical entertainment.
