Two of Louisiana’s best known products are rice and Gulf shrimp, and both are perfect foods to liven up menus for the 40-day Lenten season.

This cheesy recipe comes from Christine Fulton, a third-generation member of the Falcon family, which owns and operates the Falcon Rice Mill in Crowley. Founded in 1942 by Edward and Evelyn Falcon, the mill produces several varieties of Louisiana rice, including Cajun Country, TORO, Laredo, Home Country and Jackpot.
