Dardenne brothers plan ‘Italian Delights’
Chefs Michael and Scott Dardenne will teach a one-day cooking class called “Simply Italian Delights” at Fresina Pasta Co. at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 16 and 17.
The menu will include a mixed green salad with spicy fried chickpeas and caramelized cipolllini vinaigrette; fresh mussels steamed in a creamy saffron broth and served with Italian loaf bread; and arancini stuffed with Fresina’s Italian sausage and smoked mozzarella cheese and served with marinara sauce.
Cost is $65 per person.
Fresina Pasta Co. is located at 3458-B Drusilla Lane in the Drusilla Shopping Center.
BD Kitchen Co. sets September classes
BD Kitchen Co., 7350 Jefferson Highway, Suite 490, in Towne Center, has scheduled six cooking classes in September.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 13, chef Matthew Baccari, of Parrain’s Seafood, will teach a class on preparing sea scallops and tuna. Cost is $55.
Two classes will be offered on Sept. 14. Wanda Calkins, chef at BD Kitchen Co., will teach a chocolate class from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. She will cover the hollow molding technique, Mardi Gras chocolate favors and truffles. Cost is $50.
Also on Sept. 14, personal chef Celeste Gill will offer a class on “The Art of Party Tapas and Things” from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $55.
Two classes will be offered on Sept. 15. Calkins will teach a “Garden Brunch” class from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $65 and includes the book “The Gathering of Friends.”
From 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15, chefs Michael and Scott Dardenne will teach an “Appetizer Party” class. Cost is $65 per person.
Calkins will offer a “Roasted Duck Breast Feast” from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 21 for $65 per person.
