ADVOCATE-TESTED RECIPE

Hibiscus Iced Tea

Makes 1 quart. Recipe is by Teresa Day.

4 cups water

1 cup fresh hibiscus fruit

4 black or green tea bags

2 tablespoons honey (or more to taste)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1. Bring water and fruit to a boil on stove.

2. Remove from heat and let steep with tea bags for 30 minutes.

3. Remove the flowers and tea bags.

4. Stir in honey.

5. Stir in baking soda.

6. Strain tea into glasses and serve over ice.
