The Hot Toddy

Serves 1. Recipe is from Joey Goar, bartender at The Cove, Baton Rouge.

1/4 to 1/2 oz. quality honey

2 ozs. blended Scotch (I suggest Chivas Regal 12 year)

Juice of 1/2 lemon

3 cloves

1 whole cinnamon stick

Boiling water

1. Pour the honey into a handled mug or goblet. Add the Scotch and the lemon juice.

2. Add the cloves and cinnamon stick. (Feel free to play around with different herbs, such as nutmeg, coriander or vanilla.)

3. Fill with boiling water and stir to dissolve the honey.
