Yields 6 quarts.
4 to 6 cups fresh, ripe figs
2 (14-oz.) cans sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 (14-oz.) cans evaporated milk
1 to 2 tbls. vanilla extract, depending on preference
Whole milk (enough to fill line of ice cream freezer)
1. In a blender or food processor, chop figs to desired consistency.
2. Add figs and remaining ingredients into an ice cream freezer and process until ice cream is firm.
3. Serve (ice cream will be soft) or return bowl to freezer for at least 1 hour or until ice cream is frozen to desired consistency.
