Apple Pecan Stuffing
Serves 4 to 6. Recipe is by Julie Kay.
½ (32-ounce) bag San Francisco Boudin Sourdough Classic Herb stuffing*
½ cup butter
1 onion, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
2 cups chicken broth
½ cup water
2 green apples, peeled and chopped
½ cup pecans, chopped
1. Pour stuffing into a large bowl. Set aside.
2. Melt butter on stove top and add onion and celery. Saute over medium heat. Add chicken broth and water.
3. Pour butter mixture into stuffing and stir, then stir in chopped apples and pecans.
4. Lightly grease slow cooker with butter and spoon dressing into it. Cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
*The sourdough stuffing can be found at Costco. You can substitute a 14-ounce bag of Pepperidge Farm herb stuffing.
