Cream Cheese With Peachy Horseradish Topping
Makes 1 large appetizer. I had this appetizer for the first time at Georgia Trist’s, of Mandeville. I couldn’t believe it was just jelly and horseradish over a block of cream cheese. I do remember she had hers garnished beautifully with fresh herbs. You don’t actually need a recipe for this. Add desired amount of horseradish to jelly. I happen to like horseradish so I use according to taste. This is a rough idea.
1 (8-ounce block) cream cheese
About ¾ cup jelly (strawberry, peach, raspberry, mayhaw)
1 teaspoon creamy horseradish or more to taste
Garnish of fresh herb, optional
Crackers or mini toasts
1. Place block of cream cheese on pretty dish and set aside.
2. In small bowl add jelly then stir in horseradish. Start with one teaspoon or less and add as needed. Before serving, spoon horseradish over cream cheese and garnish as desired.
3. Serve as a spread to go on crackers or mini toasts.
