Serves 4. This isn’t really a recipe. It’s just a way to turn fresh berries into a nice dessert that Kelly Firesheets likes to serve with a light, French pinto gris.
1 pint fresh blueberries
1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced in half
1 pint fresh blackberries
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
Fresh mint leaves for garnish
1. Gently wash berries and pat dry.
2. Combine in a bowl with sugar and lemon juice, stirring gently to incorporate berries with sugar and juice but being careful not to mash the blackberries which are very delicate.
3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes so berries have an opportunity to macerate in the sugar. Stir gently again before serving.
