Serves 4 to 6.
3 to 4 lbs. pork spareribs OR beef ribs of choice
3 onions, cut into quarters
1 cup molasses, divided
1. Put ribs into slow cooker. Top with quartered onions.
2. Pour 1/2 cup molasses over all and cook on Low 6 to 8 hours.
3. Remove with slotted spoon. Pour extra 1/2 cup molasses over ribs and place under oven broiler for 5 to 7 minutes in order to make sauce harden to a deep, colorful glaze.
