Mint Julep

Serves 1. Recipe is from Maker’s Mark Bourbon.

2 bar spoons simple syrup

8 fresh mint leaves

Crushed ice

2 parts Maker’s Mark Bourbon, divided

1. Gently muddle simple syrup and mint in a julep cup, then half fill the cup with crushed ice, add 1 part Maker’s Mark and stir.

2. Fill julep cup with crushed ice, add remaining Maker’s Mark, stir, then finish with crushed ice.

3. Garnish with a large, aromatic mint sprig and two straws sitting just above the mint.
