Baton Rouge’s first Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers restaurant will open Sunday to serve its “thinly pressed steakburgers” and creamy frozen desserts, according to a news release from the company.

The Wichita, Kansas-based company built the 3,141-square foot restaurant at 6464 Siegen Lane at the former site of an Arby’s fast food restaurant.

Founded in 2002, Freddy’s now has 194 locations in 30 states. The quick-service restaurant serves hamburgers, Chicago-style hot dogs and ice cream-like frozen custard.

From Sunday through May 3, Freddy’s will donate 10 percent of all sales from its regular and large frozen custard desserts to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge.
