Serves 5 or 6.

6 ears fresh corn

4 or 5 tbls. butter

1-1/2 tsps. salt

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp. white pepper

1/4 tsp. black pepper

1/8 tsp. oregano

1/4 tsp. dried thyme

1/4 tsp. dried basil

Fresh parsley for garnish or sprinkling on top

1. Shuck corn and remove all silk. Rinse well under cold water.

2. Fill large pot 3/4 full of water. Bring to boil and add corn. Bring back to a boil and continue cooking for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain.

3. Melt butter in same pot and toss cooked corn in the melted butter.

4. In small bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, cayenne, white pepper and black pepper, oregano, thyme and basil. Stir to blend. Sprinkle corn with spicy mixture and place on platter. Garnish platter with fresh parsley or chop the parsley and sprinkle over the top of the warm corn.
