New Orleans chef Brian Landry, of Borgne restaurant and bar, will compete on "Iron Chef Showdown" at 9 p.m. Wednesday on Food Network.

Landry "cooks off against Chicago chef Ryan McCasky using a super decadent ingredient. The winner gets a shot against Iron Chef Stephanie Izard in a deep-sea duel," according to the episode description.

Landry, a New Orleans native, is the married father of three. Previously, he was head chef and spokesperson for the Louisiana Seafood Board, and spent five years as the executive chef at the New Orleans institution Galatoire’s.

The newest "Iron Chef" spin-off debuted in November, is hosted by Alton Brown and set in the newly renovated Kitchen Stadium. "Each standalone episode pits two up-and-coming chef competitors against each other, but only one earns the right to face a legendary Iron Chef and answer life’s most savory question: 'Whose cuisine reigns supreme?'" a news release says.
