NOLApalooza runs

WHAT: One-mile Fun Run and 5K, presented by the Barefoot Pedals Foundation and physicians of the Bone & Joint Clinic

WHEN: Saturday, July 23. Fun Run starts at 8 a.m.; 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: The start/finish line of each race will be just past the Highland Road/Dalrymple intersection, Baton Rouge.

DETAILS: The new runs are part of the Fifth Annual NOLApalooza Concert event. Race registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the fun run. Combo race and concert packages are available at discounted prices. Pre-race registration and packet pickup will be available at the Varsity Theatre from 4-6 p.m. Friday, July 22. Same-day registration will be available at the Varsity from 7-7:45 a.m. July 23. The concert will be held at the Varsity Theatre with music by Questionable @ Best featuring Cold Grits and Folky J, and a special reunion performance by Janus. Concert doors open at 6 p.m. for VIP and 7:30 p.m. for general admission. Tickets for the concert are $10 in advance for general admission or $20 at the door. VIP tickets are available for $50 each, $60 at the door, and include catered food from The Chimes, beer and wine until 10 p.m. Barefoot Pedals Foundation was formed in 2011 to honor the legacy of Jeffrey David Nola, a local educator and musician who died at age 35 after fighting a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer called Burkitt’s Lymphoma. He had a love for music, a passion for teaching, and a devotion to spirituality in all of its forms. The foundation has contributed over $30,000 in financial assistance to help local high school students receive a Catholic education.
